Form 8271 obsolete

According to a statement posted on the IRS Web site (www.irs.gov):

Investors are no longer required to file Forms 8271, Investor Reporting of a Tax Shelter Registration Number, due after August 2, 2007. 

Form 8271 has been eliminated. Taxpayers required to file both Form 8886 and 8271 with respect to the same transaction need only report the registration number on Form 8886.
