Step 1: Identify the EFIN
First six digits are always your EFIN
Step 2: Identify the Tax Year
Next four digits are always the current year
Step 3: Identify the Julian Date
Next three digits are the Julian date (Julian Calendar)
Step 4: Identify the Unique Software-Generated Portion
