📊 Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Check “Where’s My Refund” on IRS.gov
Use this when you need to see whether the IRS has additional information needed or if the refund is still being processed.
If the IRS has not made a deposit to the bank or sent the paper check, the taxpayer would need to check Where’s My Refund at irs.gov to see if there is more information the IRS needed.
Step 2: If it shows “Processing,” contact the IRS
Use this when the IRS has your return but the refund is not yet completed.
If Where’s My Refund shows processing, the IRS has the return and the taxpayer will need to contact the IRS for additional information.
